Living in Pictures. By Lennie Esomitoje
“Now nothing they imagined (or pictured, that is clear to them in their mind) that would be impossible to them”, was how the Creator described the effort of Nimrod and his team to build an edifice that would reach heaven.
Living in the imaginative realm, committing your vision and plans to mind is the first step to executing them. This is because it is easier for humans to relate retentively with pictures (images, drawings, documentations, data, blueprints), dreams, visions, intentions and purposes, than with vague, floating concepts with nothing to fix them on the minds.
Some of the people who claim to be highly spiritual have left the mental realm to metaphysics and eastern religion practitioners, tagging those who dare emphasize the use of the mind to achieve excellence (at least) in the physical dimension, as practitioners of some new age religion.
To be really spiritual you need to begin to live in pictures; it is the best way yet to relate with the divine. Communication with the spiritual dimension is best done in pictures. Even prayers are more effective when we submit requests to deity (and expect our answers) in pictures.
Rabbi Jesus, Saviour of the world, expects us to communicate with the divine in pictures. He said to receive what you have asked for and are believing the Creator to help you with, whenever you pray. How is this possible if you won’t picture the answers to your prayers?
Living in pictures is how to be in daily contact with your future – your purpose, dreams, vision, plans; it is how to keep your potentials alive and engaged. It is bringing your future into today; and having your future with you in your very presence whenever you need to. This concept of living in picture is a guaranteed way to influence your future today, right now.
You can influence your future right now, which is exactly what you are doing every time you think and hold on to thoughts of how you will want it to be.
Another very important fact is, you can schedule meeting times with your future. You should have review sessions on your journey toward your dream, to see if your present efforts (relationships, education, skill-set, focus and drive) is in the right direction.
Deciding to look at your future every day especially in the evening, after the day’s activities (if that works for you), to see how all you did that day has contributed to your journey to a great future, is wise and advised.
It is advised to do daily, weekly, monthly and annual reviews. Set out your plans for your day (week, month, and or year) on how they contribute to whole picture of you reaching your destiny (rather your destination, greatness and fulfillment).
This suggests that one can actually date their future. By applying this very useful tool –‘living in picture’, you can daily, weekly, monthly, yearly date your future until you reach it. It is such a cool way to live! After all, you fix a date with your future whenever you see the need to do so.
It is equally applicable in your romantic life. You can dwell on the gloomy pictures of the not so good times you had with your partner, or pull on those many good times you’ve had together (and they are so many). But, if you had lost all the pictures of those good times (likely impossible), paint and develop pictures of a desired romantic life.
Challenges of life are real, and they visit our relationships and romance as they do other areas of our lives. You can reawake (or better decide to daily keep alive, aflame) pictures of the moments of excitements, caress, kissing, hugs, steamy sex and fondling. Living in pictures is the secret to reawakening; keeping alive, aflame and ongoing the journey of greatness.
Living in pictures help one to either develop focus or maintain focus of a desirable future. Sometimes, life may introduce change to your life. If there is (or are) no pictures of your desired future (the greatness you are moving towards), you cannot detect the changes.
If your life is focused on a particular future you have pictured for yourself you will know, when you are tempted to go off course.
Living in pictures makes your future real to you. And, if your future is real to you, going to it (no matter what it involves) will be very exciting. Living in pictures makes the pursuit of purpose and destiny a great excitement.
The journey of life will be so drudgery if there is no picture, no target to move towards. According to Dr. David Oyedepo, “a football match where there is no goalpost, the players will be very frustrated.”
Those who have a picture they are moving towards, having excitement accompanying them, are enjoying the journey, no matter the twists and turns. Their excitement attracts help and helpers to them; and they find some sort of ease, even when, where the journey is very tasking. Excitement has a strong pull and attraction on people, especially positive minded people.
It is easier to work with a picture than moving through life clueless, with vague, undocumented wishy-washy description of your future. If your future is worth it, you will document its journey and paint mind pictures with which to go after it.
In your business, living in picture is greatly needed and gainful.
Champions, in all fields of endeavour attest to the benefit of living in pictures. After the hard work they put in, in physical preparation for various championship events, they also must work on their mind (their psych). For, until their minds are ready, all the training and preparation their body went through is in vain.
